How to use our DTF Transfer

Applying DTF (Direct-to-Film) transfers can be a bit tricky, but with the right instructions, you can achieve great results. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to apply warm peel DTF transfers with a transfer heat temperature of 160°C, a transfer time of 15 seconds, and an additional press with baking paper:

    Instructions:

    1. Preheat Your Heat Press:

    • Turn on your heat press machine and set it to the recommended transfer heat temperature, which is 160°C (320°F).
    • Allow the heat press to fully preheat. It's important to ensure that the heat is evenly distributed across the platen.

    2. Prepare Your Garment or Substrate:

    • Ensure that your garment or substrate is clean and free from any wrinkles or lint. Smooth out any wrinkles if necessary.

    3. Position the DTF Transfer:

    • Place your garment or substrate on the lower platen of the heat press.
    • Carefully position the DTF transfer sheet with the printed side facing down onto the desired area of the garment. Make sure it's centered and aligned as you want the design to appear.

    4. Apply Even Pressure:

    • Close the heat press machine, bringing the upper platen down onto the DTF transfer and garment.
    • Apply even pressure to ensure proper adhesion during the transfer process.

    5. Set the Timer:

    • Set the timer on your heat press to the recommended transfer time, which is 15 seconds.

    6. Start the Transfer:

    • Once the timer is set, press the start button to initiate the transfer process.
    • The heat press will apply heat and pressure to the transfer sheet and garment during this time.

    7. Wait for the Timer to Complete:

    • Allow the heat press to complete the 15-second transfer cycle.

    8. Peel the Transfer:

    • After the 15-second transfer time is complete, carefully lift the upper platen of the heat press.
    • Wait for 5-7 seconds, allowing the transfer sheet to cool slightly (this is essential for warm peel transfers).
    • Gently peel the DTF transfer sheet off the garment. The design should adhere to the fabric.

    9. Second Press with Baking Paper:

    • Place a piece of baking paper over the transferred design on your garment.
    • Close the heat press again, applying light pressure.
    • Set the timer for 5 seconds.

    10. Final Press: - Start the timer and allow the heat press to apply heat for the additional 5 seconds.

    11. Remove Baking Paper: - Carefully lift the upper platen and remove the baking paper.

    12. Cool Down: - Allow your garment to cool down completely before handling or wearing it.

    13. Test Your Transfer: - Check the adhesion of the design by gently tugging at a corner. It should be securely bonded to the fabric.

Now, your DTF transfer should be successfully applied to your garment, providing a vibrant and long-lasting design. Remember to follow the recommended temperature and time settings to achieve the best results, and always exercise caution when using heat press equipment.
